Major roads across Rhondda Cynon Taf have benefited thanks to the Labour Council's £9m Highways Investment Scheme.

Labour's town centre regeneration works in Aberdare are now moving towards completion.

Rhondda Cynon Taf’s apprenticeship scheme passes a key milestone this month as the first successful applicants begin working with the Council. There was huge demand for the approximate 30 places offered with several thousand applications received, illustrating just how much the scheme is needed due to the scale of the problems of youth

A major project of investment in Llantrisant Leisure Centre has recently begun as part of the Council’s improvements to leisure facilities across the County Borough. The £2.8M redevelopment is expected to take six months to complete although the leisure centre will remain open throughout the construction work.

Rhondda Fach Sports Centre now boasts a new state-of-the-art Zenith Suite, which is already proving to be popular with the public. The Labour Council's facility, which is open seven-days-a-week, offers a wide range of fitness machines to suit all ages and abilities. Qualified staff are also on hand offering advice and encouragement to all users.

As part of Labour's strong commitment to maintaining and improving the County Borough’s highways infrastructure, the Council is beginning work in the Aberdare area, ploughing over £60,000 in to the B4275, which is the main route to Aberaman and adjoining villages.
