Protect Your Local Services by Voting Labour This Thursday

Russell Roberts has reminded residents of the importance of voting on May 3rd.

Labour’s Russell Roberts said:

“Thursday’s local elections are hugely important because they will decide who will deal with the cuts being imposed on public services by David Cameron & Nick Clegg.

“On Thursday people will decide who will best stand up for Rhondda Cynon Taff against the CONDEM cuts and the choice is very clear cut.

“Only by voting Labour can people ensure a clear message is sent to Cameron & Clegg, a signal which will demonstrate that we are not prepared to sit back and take the continued attack the CONDEM government is making on local services and local jobs.

“Despite causing a double dip recession, they continue to cut services and hit people’s pockets hard.

“Only by voting Labour can people ensure that their Council services are protected from them. By voting Labour people in RCT will ensure that there are not cuts to frontline services and that jobs are protected.

“A vote for any party other than Labour risks cuts to Council services and the possiblity of significant job losses. We are the only party to put forward a costed manifesto. Voting Plaid would mean the need for 1000 job losses or a 25% hike in Council Tax.

“With more Tories and Liberals standing in RCT than ever before there is a real risk that voting for any other party may let them into control of the Council through the back door. Conservatives & Liberal Democrats already work together on this Council and Plaid Cymru has failed to publicly rule out a coalition with the Tories & Lib Dems here in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

“To ensure your public services and local jobs are protected, vote Labour on May 3rd.”
